Share Your Time and Bring Joy to Others
Board Games:
The Board Games event will take place twice a month on Mondays, offering seniors the opportunity to socialize while playing one or two board games. This activity fosters community and provides a fun environment for interaction.
• Role: You will lead the game scheduled for the day and play alongside seniors, depending on the number of participants. We encourage volunteers to demonstrate strong communication, portray active listening, easily adapt to change, and have a knowledge of a variety of board games.
Card and Domino Games:
The Card and Domino Games event will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays every month from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Each day will have a specific game assigned, and it’s important to check the current calendar to familiarize yourself with the game being taught.
• Role: You will lead the game scheduled for the day and play alongside seniors, depending on the number of participants. Also, if the seniors show a different way to play a game, they should have the ability to adapt and show interest. We encourage volunteers to demonstrate strong communication, portray active listening, easily adapt to change, and have a knowledge of a variety of board games.
Social Hour:
Social Hour is an activity designed to help community members, both regulars and newcomers, engage with one another. Social Hour is scheduled for Thursdays, varying in times depending on scheduled activities, and includes themed activities that encourage socialization.
• Role: You will assist with the planned activities and interact with community members.
Bingo Games:
The Bingo Games event will take place every Friday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., which is a lively, competitive game that fosters social interaction. The event is often themed, keeping participants engaged.
• Role: You will assist in calling bingo numbers for six separate games. The WFC offers double bingo, shape bingo, and blackout. At 2:00 p.m. there’s a short break before repeating the variation with different games. Some Bingo days will have scheduled themes.
